Kernan (“Kip”) Oberting
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Kip joined Montpelier Re in 2004 from White Mountains Capital, where he was Managing Director. Previously, Kip was a Vice President of OneBeacon Insurance Group and of White Mountains Insurance Group. He began his career as a financial analyst with Stern Stewart & Co and was a convertible bond trader at CSFB in Tokyo before joining White Mountains in 1995, where he gained extensive experience of the M&A, investment banking, capital management and investment aspects of the insurance and reinsurance industry. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1991.

William Pollett
Senior Vice President & Treasurer

William holds a Bachelor's degree from Edinburgh University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Accountant (ACA). He was previously employed by the ACE Group for nearly 5 years, initially as Chief Financial Officer of ACE Tempest Re and then as Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Vice President at ACE Limited, where he was responsible for financial analysis and planning for the ACE Group. Prior to ACE, William worked for the OIL Group of Companies for 7 years holding a number of positions including Treasurer and Vice President of the investment companies. Prior to that, he was an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand in Bermuda and London.

Neil Greenspan
Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer

Neil holds MBA & MSA degrees from Northeastern University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University. A Certified Public Accountant, Neil was previously employed by the ACE Group for 6 years, most recently holding the position of Vice President - Accounting of ACE Financial Solutions International in Bermuda. Prior to that, Neil was an auditor with Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bermuda.

Aline Harris
Vice President, Financial Controller

Aline joined Montpelier Re in 2002 from PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Insurance Division in Bermuda. Prior to that, she worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Canada for three years in the small business division. Aline holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada, and is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia.

Tyanika Basden
Assistant Financial Controller

Tyanika is our Assistant Financial Controller. Prior to joining Montpelier Re, she served as Account Manager at Dundee Leeds from 2000-2002, Senior Accountant at Stockton Reinsurance Ltd from 1999-2000, and worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Bermuda for 4 years in the Insurance Division. Tyanika holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, and qualifies as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. She is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda.
